“Exploring Immigration & The American Dream” is a 7-part series of short documentaries that examines the major issues related to legal immigration in the United States since the passage of a new immgration law in 1965.

The series was produced from almost 200 hours of footage in the archives of Contemporary Learning Systems, Inc. From 1999 through 2008, Historian and Producer George A. Colburn, Ph.D., traveled around the country gathering interviews and location footage about the subject.

In this new 7-part series, the focus is on Holland and Ottawa County, Michigan, and how they have dealt with issues related to the influx of new immigrants. Commentators in this series represent most viewpoints involved in the heated national debate of this complex issue.
